Health: Pampering yourself

Sometimes, in between our busy days, we forget to take care of ourselves. We don’t allow ourselves any time to sit down and relax. Lately, I haven’t been taking good care of myself because I was to busy with other things. I realized that I should create more “Me-time” and pamper myself more often. For instance, I never had a treatment at a beautysalon. For my birthday my sweet friends gave me a giftcard for a beautysalon nearby. So last week, I decided it was time to make an appointment and let myself be pampered. While laying on the massage table, enjoying a face mask and hot-stone massage,  I thought to myself: “Why haven’t I done this before?!”.  Are you also forgetting to take care of yourself sometimes? Here are some “Me-time” things I love to do (and should do more often)…

Spa Devarana, 's-Hertogenbosch, Holland

Go to the Spa

There’s nothing more relaxing than a day at the spa. You can go sweat it off in saunas, relax in a herbal bath, enjoy fresh food and juices at the restaurant and take a rest on one of the loungebeds. A visit to the spa not only makes you feel relaxed, it’s also good for your health. The saunas provide a good blood circulation, which is good for your heart- and bloodvessels. You will also build up a better immune system. For the dutchies: Devarana is a very beautiful and good Spa in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, I would really recommend to visit this place.

Create your own private Spa

You can’t visit the spa daily, so a good replacement is creating your own spa at home. The fun part about having one at your place is being able to create it exactly how you like it. Fill your hot tub and apply some rose petals, an nice scented oil or bath bombs. You can put on some relaxing music, watch your favorite show, light on some candles, drink your favorite cocktail… just do whatever you like. Apply a face and hair mask and you’re ready to relax. I love to use bath products from Lush, especially their bath bombs are amazing.

Organize a classic sleepover party with the girls

I will always love sleepovers, no matter what age I am.  Catching up with friends and having a good time. Hair braiding, masks, watching all the wrong romantic movies, chocolate, having serious conversations but also lot’s of laughter. Having trouble planning a date suitable for all the girls? No worries, I always use Doodle. It’s an online planner which can help you out picking a date.
